Bird Images from a great photographic day out at Silverband Falconry in Cumbria, the day was hosted by Steve and Ann Toon award winning photojournalists who run these workshops along with Silverband owner and Falconer Richard (ably assisted by “Becks”).
The morning was spent on the Fells with harsh natural settings and big vistas allowing great flying time for the larger birds, however at only 9+ weeks old the juvenile Eagle Owl trespassed onto a Ravens space with some retaliation - a brief stand-off and raised wings/beaks and feathers. No damage done – but a life lesson for the owlet who sensibly retreated. I would guess in a few months the tables could well be turned. After lunch, gates, posts, fields and trees provided natural settings for the birds
