Dismantling of Bacton Gas Plant

Working as HSEQ and Interface Consultant for eni-Bacton Gas Plant Dismantling Phase allowed open access to all area's. Along with my key role I was able to help document this high profile project, the largest of its kind in Europe.

Ongoing interface and good working relationship between site owners (eni), duty holders (Petrofac), principal contractors (Masterton) and working neighbouring COMAH gas terminals as well as external agencies helped safeguard operations.

The small onsite teams bringing collective skills from on/offshore gas processing and the demolition industries, people with previously diverse cultures and outlook on risk each helping bring relevant controls to safe isolation and fluid removal with use of hot work and excavators bringing the site to ground level once hydrocarbon free. Crushing machines pulverised concrete and brick while occupational health controls ensured personnel wellbeing with measures to control dust, noise and vehicle movements minimised disruption to the surrounding residential and working population.
